About Us

I have been sewing for over 50 years.  There were many childhood and teen age years of Girl Scout and 4-H sewing.  I was given a very solid base by watching my mother and grandmother make clothing for myself and my 5 siblings.  We do laugh at old school pictures of us wearing the same dress in fourth grade!  As a young adult and new bride, I put my Montgomery Wards graduation gift to good use.  I saved scraps from every dress I made for my new baby girl!  I saved them for the quilt I was going to make for her wedding.  However, a weak moment when moving found me getting rid of that box because I was never going to get to that quilt!  How I regret that decision, as a short 5 years later found me making my first quilt.  In June, it was taken off my bed by our very enthusiastic pastor when he was having a church auction.  I was amazed that anyone would want my work.  I was inspired though.  That year 18 family members got lap quilts for Christmas and the journey began.

Quilting became my happy place.  I went to my machine as the kids became teenagers, left home for college and marriage.  I went to my machine as loneliness came.  I went to my machine as I was blessed with grandbabies.  Now that I have a studio I continue to go there when the chaos of the world starts crashing around me.  It is where I spend time lovingly making my family quilts, pajamas and Princess dresses. It is where I run my business.  Where my wonderful friends come to visit, love and support each other.  I sometimes go to just sit and reflect on the blessings of my life.  Over the years, this room has become a part of me, a part of my well-being, my Sanctuary.  I hope you also have such a place to find your refuge.

Quilting began as a hobby and has become so much more.  It became a job when I got my first longarm quilting machine.  Then came the opportunity to teach quilting and long arming.  What fun to pass the joy on to others.

Now I am stretching out one more time into the exciting land of pattern design.  Queen of Your Quilts Customizable Quilt Patterns made its a debut at the 2nd Annual Oregon Quilt Festival in February 2024!  I am so excited to see where this dream takes me.
